Well given that there have been changes in the FC camp, some of us would be excluded under the original rules.

Is it worth trying to revamp the contest again with an ammended set of rules - maybe weighting the results to balance the cars a little more fairly ?

Any thoughts guys ?

The only thoughts I had were based around giving points for best ET or TS for the 1/4 mile, but subtracting points for items such as FMIC, porting and so on.  Might be a bit complicated to work out but it was just to arouse a bit of competetion amongst the FC\'s at RS4 :driving :D

Could just change it so that its open mods but nothing above 300/350bhp?

Been thinking about this some...

You can use on line calculators to give a good gestimate of 1/4 mile time based on HP.

Either using an estimated or dyno proven HP figure, we could evaluate a likely best time for the 1/4, and then point score based on how close to this you can get in reality.

This is fair for any mods on the car - it just tests the skill on the 1/4 mile.  There is obviously the potential for sandbagging on the HP values, but we can all decide whether a figure is a fair estimate given the mods made to a car.

What do you think ?

Either that or set a bogey time that people have to try and get?  Like closest time 14.3 or something like that?

Dave\'s idea of approx calcs based on HP is a good one, we could simplify it a bit and have bands something like:

stock - target 100mph
200 - 250bhp target 105mph
250 - 300bhp target 110mph
300 - 350bhp target 115mph
350 - 400bhp target 120mph

or something along those lines and the person closest to their target figure wins

Don\'t forget cab\'s are heavier than the coupe\'s and weight plays a big factor on the 1/4 mile ET and TS.

With 350 FWHP a cab could do the qtr in just under 13

for the coupe this is more likely to be 12.5 !

so how about :

Stock Cab  15.6
Stock Coupe 15.1

200-250  Cab     14.5
200-250  Coupe   14

250-300  Cab    13.7
250-300  Coupe  13.2

For a Coupe running 400 fly wheel you can expect 12 secs, don\'t expect anyone would run a cab with that much

my best time in the coupe was 15.03 @ 93 i think

only upgrade was the main cat removed - still ran with the down pipe cat

the cab is stock - so not sure what that would run - and being an auto - its not the fastest change up - as you have to back off first

if the cab did it in 16 i would be impressed !

Sounds like some fun will be had !

Stu - you are going to put the cab on the track then :driving :cheers

Be interesting to see what Mr Brett has up his sleeves or in his engine bay as well !:cool

Not sure I\'d want a tow behind the dragon car - if he pops the chute out you won\'t see where you\'re going !:Hammer :2eek

Only another 2 weekends away...
