Apex\'i also do the PS Revolution exhuast. Quiet as a mouse when running idle but when you boot it, it opens up and is well, pretty damn loud!

It\'s not that I don\'t have any respect for other people etc, but both mine and the boyfriends every-day cars are not useable at the moment, so we\'ve got no choice but to use the RX for now. Obviously for going to work and back we would usually be using those!

Had a note on my car this morning asking not to let it idle every morning as it keeps waking "them" up (whoever them is). If I had the choice I would switch it off straight away.

So do you guys think that if I\'m careful just before I get home I won\'t have to wait a few minutes after I\'ve pulled up? Is that what you do?

Just don\'t drive on boost the last few miles and as soon as you get to your house you can switch the engine off.

There is absolutely no need to leave your car running to cool down, just drive carefully for a couple of miles before you get home.
This belief that any car needs to sit and run on your drive is rubbish, you are doing more harm than good to your engine!

The original reason for leaving cars running is derived from the race/rally scene, where you have a red hot glowing turbo from the race, if you turn the engine off, the oil which is sat in the turbo, boils, this then leaves carbon deposits within the lubrication section of the turbo, eventually blocking the oil galleries, starving the bearings of oil and destroying the turbo.
This was the idea and hence name of a ‘turbo timer’,  unless you are running at full boost, to the point you arrive at your doorstep, this is not required (if you are you are causing a lot of other issues due to mass heat rejection required)
I hope this helps clear this urban myth

Oki doki, thankyou! - You learn something everything day!. :)

Red and Single

Me too, my car is very loud too (single turbo rex\'s are never quiet) but I dont leave it on the drive ticking over ever, just get in and drive gently from cold, and drive the last mile of the journey in a high gear with very little throttle.

I actually put the air con on for the last mile of the journey too as it get the water temps down to below 80 degrees, cant hurt.

Have some sympathy guys.

We enjoy our cars, but at the same time they shouldn\'t annoy everyone else.
