So how does the type r differ from other rx-7s?:confused:  are there any other differences apart from the twin oil coolers?

Conditions of being a Type-R\';

From the factory they don\'t have;
leather, sunroof, cruise control,  bose wave audio system, Autoboxes.

They do have;
Twin oil coolers, Suede or carbon effect seats, Strut brace (Usually), Front splitter (Usually), always manual gearboxes.

I\'m sure there are more minor details here and there but these are the main easy to spot clues.

All chassis nos start with FD3S for the Jap spec cars and the numbers that follow will only give you an idea of when the car was built.

Type Rs have twin oil coolers AND a manual gearbox, Automatics have a secondary cooler for the transmission.

Type Rs also have stiffer suspension and slightly more power than a Type S or X. How you tell this in the real world is another matter, especially if you\'ve never been in an RX7

Type R2\'s are easier to spot as they don\'t have a spoiler (although obviously people put after-market spoilers on), have no rear wiper and have storage bins (unless previous owners decide to change them like mine :( )
