I\'m just doing some reading on the 35R and I wondered if anyone could explain the options to me on this page.

http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

I understand with the exhaust housing larger equals more top end and slower spool and vice versa, but could someone explain to me the other options listed and why I\'d go for one over the other.

Cheers

can you pin point which turbo you are looking at as the link just has lot os accessories
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

They are all pretty small, they have the T3 flange also, where most manifolds have a T4 flange so make sure you get the right manifold.  You will need at least the 1.06.

They have badged it as a GT35/40 but my GT35/40 has a t4 P trim with a 1.15 exhaust housing and not much lag, they look like the smaller E trim.

Go for the biggest exhaust housing they do and the biggest compressor housing in that size turbo but really you should go for a little bigger

How about the T4 GT35 at A-Spec ?

Or maybe even the 500-R

I want to use the car on the road and track mainly so I\'m more interested in fast spool than top end figures. I guess around 400 at the wheels would be nice.

You could just buy my T04S. ;)

they both look good,   are you just buying the turbo or the whole kit?

A-spec do some seriously nice stuff, plus he guarantee the manifold for as long as you own the car. Been thinking about the 3574 single off him. Not a ball bearing turbo though so would go with a 0.85 A/F for quicker spool.

I was thinking about the kit. I have read a few posts on rx7club though where some of the kits have involved fabricating work as things didnt all line up correctly. But to be fair they are always on the forum replying to posts and trying to improve the kit.

The 500r does sound nice though :InLove

Out of interest whats the difference between the short runner and long runner manifolds ? Why would I opt for one over the other ?

The shorter the runner the lower the revs where you see peak power. Less shown on Turbos though. Not sure the option it there on the RHD manifolds he does, the steering rack is in the way :D

DOH, DOH DOH, the shorter the intake track the higher the rpm peak power is at.

Sorry

So if I\'m more worried about spool than peak power the longer runners are better ? :3Confused

shaunwil

Not entirely, It relates more to N/A than turbo. The turbo forces air through regardless.

lol, so it doesnt really matter either way then. The only thing is people have had some clearance issues with the long runners.
