rubbish single tub fitment!!!

hey gents, well i finally got of me ass and tried to sort out the problem i am having with my single turbo,

the problem i am havin is that i bought a t04e single turbo kit and when i have come to fit it it fouls against the steering column knuckle:mad:

i spoke to pip about it and as soon as i said that it was an internal wastegate he said that he has never known a to4e to be internal?:3Confused can anyone shed any light??

also what could i possibly do to fix this? other than buying a new turbo with external wastgate and new manifold? i thought about cutting and re-welding the manifold so it cleared??

heres some pics, forgot to take some of it hittin the steerin column tho

this is the knuckle its hittin is it ok for me to grind off the little tab on the column aswell for a little bit more clearance?

notice how bent the actuator rod is!!! it was like this when i bought it so looks like someone had same trouble as me:rolleyes:

it definately says its a t04e??

I reckon you need to get a picture of it fouling the steering column.

I guess you could get a different exhaust housing, one that is not internally wastegated. Then you\'d have to get the manifold modified for an extrenal wastegate, and obviously get yourself an external wastegate.

would rather go with the general amount of peeps and have an external one anyways, whats the pros and cons for both internal and external?

any idea where i could get an exhaust housing from then nikp?

sell it on ebay.com or rx7 club.com (LHD) and buy a proper kit, it looks like its way to small for an FD, what are the A/R\'s on the exhaust turbine housing?

That looks like one some one has put together for a FC. There was a HKS kit that was an Internal but that was one down from the To4E if memory serves.

My T04B looks as big as that, and my wastegate is defo bigger !

You sure they haven\'t badged that up wrong ?
