rear wiper, and few other issues!

Hey,

Cars been running good for a while, but since rain has kicked in, typically have now found some issues!
First the rear wiper has stopped working, press the dash switch but no movement at all, has been working fairly recently though but now no joy..i hear this could be a relay?

Also have noticed recently (only every so often) that the Add coolant light on the dash comes on and beeps and then goes away.. Mostly happens when parked up for a while just idling or after a hard drive then sitting for a bit. weird thing is if it beeps and i rev the engine up it stops temporarily.

Having checked the levels of coolant they are still fine and doesn\'t need topping up and the temp gauge does not change or overheat when the light goes off..
any idea what this could be? Had a coolant change when i first got the car (at least a few months ago). worth doing again?

oh forgot also, seems to be having some hot starting issues now when the engine is quite hot....
think thats all, any input would be great :god

Hi Guy,

 Can you just answer the following questions and we can get a better idea of what situation you are in

* Turbo or non turbo?
* How many miles has the car done?
* Has it ever had an engine rebuild/replacement?
* Any modifications?
* What sort of usage per week?

 The wiper issue is normally down to a failed relay in the switch block, if you do a search in this section you will see it has come up on a number of occasions - providing you can operate a soldering iron and buy the components its not a hard fix.

hey brett,

forgot to include the all important details, doh.
its an \'88 Egi, mileage is just over 80k, no engine rebuild or replacement as far as I know.
Full standard car, no mods at all..
isn\'t driven a huge amount really as train to work every day last week did a few hundred miles or so though...but not a huge amount to be honest.

for the relay, where can you buy that from, what one? soldering wise im fine, finding the parts im rubbish!

Have you tried the fuse for the wiper? Might save you some hassle if thats all it is.

haven\'t tried the wiper fuse yet, may have a look soon.. am getting all sorts of weird electrical stuff going on now... fuel gauge cut out earlier, then came back on again....

im getting issues when starting the car when its warmed up. It starts fine when left over night. very strange. any ideaS?
