My brakes are finally working!! :chat   Big thank you to Clive for all the time, patience and free advices I received. :god    Raymond for all his time and help. :cheers

Been through hell last few months sorting out my brakes, and they’ve finally been fixed.
It all started when my rear calipers decided they had enough and started seizing up whenever they felt like it. :2eek
After sourcing a pair of good working ones and thought that was it, but no….. everything started going downhill in the brake department with the brake peddle becoming spongy, no braking power on the back …….etc :Grrr

First thing we tried naturally was to bleed the brake and check for bubbles, and there it was, more bubbles than you can ask for in a Jacuzzi. :2Rolleyes   After that’s sorted, things did improve a bit, but the brake was as good as a fully loaded van with drum brakes.
We then moved onto replacing pads n disks on all four corners of the car(old ones were on the way out anyway), again, things improved but nothing to shout about.
Next to try was replacing the brake lines to Goodridge braided jobies, which didn’t help at all(as it turned out, I already had braided lines and they were absolutely fine.) :2Rolleyes
At that point, I was told it could only be one thing, well the only thing left that hasn’t yet been replaced â€" the brake master cylinder.
After having the cylinder rebuilt, the brake performance improved dramatically, it felt as strong as stock if no better apart from the spongy peddle still, but then since I had upgraded my disks and pads to AP items, this was nowhere close the level of standard expected.

Now, with nothing left to change and nothing more to do, we decided to bleed the brake again, yep you guess it, no improvement. :(

After running out of ideas, we then started to play with the adjustment on the top of the brake peddle, there it was, the root of all problems. :Hammer   It was maxing out the adjustment in the wrong direction :spank  ; god knows who did that and more curiously why that actually worked with the old brakes. :3Confused
Anyway, after five minutes of playing around with it, there it was, my brakes are now really strong and sharp, to the point Im in need of learning how to drive the car again.  Should I brake now? Nah give it a few more yards, Doh still way too early. :evillaugh

A very happy chap indeed. :rollin :rollin :rollin

Excellent news.  It\'s often the case it turns out to be somethig simple - shame you had top spend so much to sort it.

I know, seemed like I went through a lot for nothing but then at least I know the entire system\'s now spot on and nothing should go wrong for a very long time :)
