Plugging in the loom at the gearbox, but we\'re left with these two and have no idea where they\'re supposed to be connected to!

Anyone able to help us out?

Jim_rx7

Also, the plug that comes off the downpipe seems to come up and connect to a little plug at the back of the UIM. But that plug itself doesn\'t seem to be connected to anything? Anyone got any ideas??

You can see it circled in the pic below...

Jit

first thing..those gearbox connectors should all go to sensors on the gearbox.
the one offf the ownpipe is for the lambda sensor.... strange that its not connected...it should have a single wire coming from it and that goes directly into the ecu (obviously folowing the loom tho) if im not mistaken...

Jim_rx7

I don\'t know if I\'m being a tard here, but neither myself or my mate could find any other connectors etc around the gearbox area that will plug into those two "floating" plugs! Are the plugs where they are supposed to connect to, loose ones, or are they actually attached to the gearbox?

I do remember when disconnecting them we thought we had them all, but then found another two. Just when back under, I can\'t see where they\'re supposed to go! Argh!

Also, that lambda sensor... there is what looks like a snapped wire near the plug. Where the big earth o ring is on the right hand side of the yellow circle I\'ev drawn. I think it could possible be for that? If so, I\'ll just connect that up. Or is that another earth?

Jit

im pretty certain they go up on the box...thre is a sort of bracket where some clips on the loom should secure them to a bracket on the box.... then it should be obvious..
checkthe sensors on the gearbox cos sometimes the wires break off at the sensor ...

Jim_rx7

Yeah, I saw that bracket when I took them off. But they weren\'t all attached to it. They were just cable tied up. Nothing broke off when disconnecting them, I just can\'t seem to find anywhere to plug the buggers back in again!!?!

I dont think you have pulled the wire enough towards the back of the car. That wire should sit on top of the gearbox and the plugs on the gearbox should be strapped to the gearbox like in this pic

RobbieRX-7

Redirect the gearbox loom where i have drawed the yellow line

Jim_rx7

Yeah, I\'ve realised it\'s not pulled far enough back.

I\'ll get the car up pretty high and have a good hunt about around the gearbox to see if I can find anywhere for them to plug in... coz I couldn\'t earlier! doh!

RobbieRX-7

You have routed the loom wrong. Thats why it appears shorter. See my post above

Jim_rx7

Expert Robbie... what about the cable for the lambda sensor? :)

PS : loom direction noted! :D

RobbieRX-7

The lambda sensor should plug into it\'s own socket by the earth terminal where the engine hook is. If there is no socket to accept it, then something is really messed up. I can\'t really see the pic that well.

Jim_rx7

There is the socket for it to connect to. But there\'s nothing on the back of that socket! Saying that, there is what looks like a wire near the earth terminal which I think possibly goes into the back of the socket?

allstaruk

where are you jacking on? And yes it should plug into that connector and it should be wired into the loom.
