When filling coolant, I\'ve read if you take a hose off somewhere, you\'re able to get more in somehow?

I\'ve heard about lifting the AST tank to above the engine to release any air locks!!

Jim_rx7

Yeah? Last time I filled I drove down the road. Had to stop etc and fill again. It was fine after that mind you.

The search button can be your best friend :Giggle.

There is a hose on the back of the throttle body next to the TPS (Throttle position sensor) remove this and set the pipe upwards. Fill the AST until its full, put its cap on, fill from the filler then, put a 1/2 cut bottle in the filler and make a head of coolant once water is flooding out at the throttle put the pipe back on whilst its flowing. Then half fill the plastic reservoir bottle and check the coolant level topping up the little difference for a couple of weeks every day.

RemarkLima

Also the hose that goes onto the throttle body, if you take that off and point it up you can hear it gurgle away and it\'ll be higher than pretty much anything else in the engine bay.

Just go nice and slow!

Not quite - on that picture, it\'s slightly up, and slightly to the left.

It usually stands up anyway so is always highest point.

Damn.. thought I had it there... Anyone got a pic?

nikp

Cor blimey, after stripping a block you should know where it is by now! :p

Anyway, it\'s here...

Jim_rx7

Lol.. I did know... but it was more than a few hours ago now, so I\'ve totally forgotten!

I think I just managed to do it by luck tbh!!! :)

Just hang the AST from a coat hanger and from the bonnet, this is a lot higher than the rest of the water system, then fill the system slowly, from the filler neck....

Are you nearly there then?  Well done son!

BMW!!!  :spank     we got it in!!!  :god
