Thought i would ask any experts here this question also;

Does anyone know how much a street port, uprated twins and NOS (no giggling at the back) would be?

Street port; means rebuilding so: £1K (labour) + parts (shouldnt be too much if you\'re rebuilding before it shits itself) + £500 for porting say £3,500 for a rebuild ported motor fitted.

Uprated stock twins e.g. BNRs £1,000 good for say 18-20psi (might like to think about pinning your block if yer gonna run +14psi)...

NOS. Fairly cheap kit-wise and to install. Getting it tuned ok would be a little harder perhaps; were you thinking of for cooling or actual power?

You\'re gonna need an uprated fuel system, aftermarket EMS etc too.

Nos is for power - i am skint but i need more power! and at 55k i may be near rebuild time anyway!

Can I have NOS by itself or will i need extras to support it?

Think you\'d be looking at a fuel system either way. Depending on the kind of install you may need some thing to control it all with too e.g. outputs from an ECU...

Not sure I\'d be looking to run NOS thru my nice new engine - you didnt want a warranty, did you G? :rollin

I\'m tempted to go for NOS at this stage cos then if it knackers the engine i wont have wasted 3k.  Is there any specialist that have done rotarys with NOS.   I would say i would have a grand buget.

Tim (RX Motors) has toyed with NOS on his 12A turbo and threatens to hook it up when the thing is built properly, dunno any one else who has run it to be honest.

Guy at CPL (where u went on the rollers) knows a lot about NOS and is a dealer for one of the NOS setups. Might be worth having a chat with him some time.
