Right then been checking out the engine bay in a bit more depth today and i rekon the belts have not been changed in a while and have noticed that their is a pully with a bit chipped off, (power steering one i think) top right as ya face engine.

what i need to know is !!  how difficult is it to change belts on a Rotary engine ??  would i need a guide ?? (like i would need a guide to do cam belt change)

also i wanna get a new pully is it worth buying a set ??  if so where from :):)

cheers for all your help !!

you must be getting sick of me asking all these bloody stupid questions 24/7 :D :D

Dead easy replacing the belts. Its very obvious what you need to do, so as long as you have a bit of common sense, you should be fine. Just make sure you get the right tightness on them.

Depends how much is chipped off. They\'re only plastic, so if you phone one of the suppliers you can probably get one dirt cheap (Think mine cost a fiver from Tim)

So i dont have to worr about any thing going ping like a normal engine ???

No, nothing to worry about mate!!
you will have to take off the belt in question first, then you can take off the second belt that runs the air pump (if it\'s still there that is!!)

Doing the power steering one is easy:

All you need to do is look for the tentioner (the only pully that runs on the smooth side of the belt!) look just above it and you will find a nut head, this is connected to the tentioner wheel, turn this clockwise (IIRC) to slacken the pully & the belt will just fall off!!

The air pump one is a bit more fiddley!!! you will need to slacken both the air pump & the aulternator to get enough slack to remove the belt!! to slacken the aulternator is the same as doing the power steering tentioner, & the air pump is the same as an aulternator on a standard car: slacken the nyts that secure it & it pivots!!

with out the air pump I measured the required belt at: 73cm IIRC but the next size up was too big (75cm) so I\'m trying the 72.5cm tomorow!!
