Where is the best source to wire my guages up to?
I.e. light, 12v ignition & ground.
Ive obviously got to tap into other wires somewhere, but where is the best place?

I wouldnt mind someone answering this one as well as I\'m goign to have a go at this before this weekend and santa pod.

I\'m assuming I can use a standard earthing point in the engine bay for the earth and to run the live feed straight from the ignition but has anyone got a pic.

i will be at japshow and did mine, very easy so i can go through it with you if you like, it all depends on where you want them etc

give me a call anyway,

12v ignition, ground etc for gauges can be taken from your head unit wiring and lighting from any illuminated dashboard or centre console switch.  The senders can be earthed anywhere in the engine bay.

Thanks M4drx I\'m going to japshow as well but want to get the gauges in before saturday.  I have a starter button wired into the ignition so i was thinking of using the feed for that for the gauges, the earth for the stereo for the earth and then all i gotta do is run the wiring out through a gromit.
Bearing in mind I\'ve just fitted a Greddy oil filter relocation kit is there a gromit nearby to run the necessary wiring through?
Cars at home so i cant look until tonight.

Right this is ON.  Checked everything I need last night and all seems to be in order.  Going to have a go tonight providing the weather stays nice for me.  I\'ll try and take some pics as I go.

Mobilemick

get everything from the ignition switch :)

Gatesy

Where is the ignition switch located and what colour wire do I need to take it all from?

Mobilemick

not to sound rude m8,  but if u dont know where the ignition switch is,  i`d leave the electrics well alone  ;)

Sound advice that :)
Got all the plumbing done of the senders and what not and going to get the garage to wire it all in on friday morning.  Failing that I\'ll have a load of pretty looking non-working gauges in my dash on saturday :)

Mobilemick

But if u still want to have a try,  still here for advice :)

Well :)
Was thinking about this last night.  I\'ve got a starter button thats wired directly into the ignition switch so I can take my ignition feed from that as I dont use it any more.  My constant source from the stereo (little yellow wire I believe). i can use the same earth as the stereo for everything and for the engine earth (they recomend 2 eathing points for some reason) theres plenty of spots to use.
I\'m having a bracket made up in work today so that i can mount the pressure sender in the cockit behind the dash as they\'ve given me a metre of braided hose but I only need about 20cm if that so figure it\'ll look better with a bit of hose going into one of the gromits than having a metre of it hanging around the engine bay.

Thats the plan anyways!
