The a type S is the entry model, it has a couple of subtle differences from the type R. It is fitted with one oil cooler, no front splitter, no front strut brace and cloth seats, rather than alacantra (i prefer the look of the cloth seats)
Paintwork is in good cond throughout and suspension is not adjustable (although I have stock springs which can be fitted).
The reason for the engine rebuild is that it was fitted with a boost controller in Japan, the new uk owner lent the car to his brother, who decided to \'adjust the boost\' there was insufficient fuel for the boost, and she chipped an apex seal.
Come and have a look at the car and we can discuss all other points.

My initial thoughts on this are that I may be better off getting a type r (with an apexi)already fitted as I will no-doubt end up buying braces, Apexi and front splitter which will cost me a bit and may increase the insurance as they are mods.

Having twin coolers seems like a sensible option too.

Rx Motors has a black one for sale thats not on the website, with a fresh rebuild, if I remember it has some Vailside bits on it.
And I can also recommend the cars that Chris sells, as thats where I got mine from in March. Drives like a dream :3gears-rh .

Price now £4995.00
Very very cheap for a low mileage rebuilt gem of a car.........

If you want trouble free FD ownership, she is definately the one, new clutch less than 5k ago, all switches, solenoids, coils, vac pipes etc, inspected and tested:Thumbsup! .....

By reliable I\'d look at how often it fails to start or gets you home on the back of a low-loader.

Happened with mine once on 4 years and 25k miles of ownership and that\'s from a split clutch line.

Even when the water selas were on the way out it still started and ran well.

Even when I blew a tip playing at high boost on a runway it managed to hit 164mph and  drove home (and bashed a few Civic type R\'s in the process)...

Well maintained FDs are as reliable as any car, more so than (for example) an equivalently aged TVR.

Quote from: Grub2000Well as an RX noob it is hard to get a good idea of how long an RX7 will last.

From what I have gathered from post on here, if you buy a rebuild it should last you 6-7 years, which is fine with me.

well mine is 13 year old FD done 45000KM + 7400miles = approx 35400miles never been rebuilt, just had power fc fitted on tuesday (12th) and its 280bhp at the wheels....
.... so if any1 wants to buy a knightsport ecu i got 1?!!!

go on, get one, you know you want to......
