6x9 speakers

hi

has anyone got 6x9\'s in the rear of their rx? i was thinking of biding on them in the rotorstock auction but need to know if they\'ll replace the stock 6x8\'s

so any info on this should bennifit the club;)

First of all why 6x9\'s? Personally I would avoid 6x9\'s unless you are on a tight budget and not fitting a sub.

6x9\'s are designed as a cheap way of producing as much kickbass and high end response as possible.

If you are fitting a sub in the rear then it will drag the soundstage back to the rear of the car and the sub will make the cones on the 6x9\'s move eventually killing them.

Get some decent front component speakers and amp them along with a sub in the boot.

Components are generally designed to sound better in the midrange. Plus round cones tend to sound better anyway.

i think the front speakers are blown, or one is anyway and the others arn\'t really working because of this. So i bid on the front speakers that are up for auction in the chit chat section, and since there are 6x9\'s for auction too i just thought i\'d go for them too. I was after a bit more from the speakers not really interested in an all out sound install thingy.

Rich I will probably be fitting mine before you see your car again. I\'m going for replacing the stock rears since 1 of mine is blown (being from a sound engineering background it really annoys me). I would have done them before now but I have had other priorities as you know. I\'m more concerned about the depth than the other dimensions. So I will let you know how I get on.
I have a cunning plan and If it works I\'ll do yours for you.
