Aerial Removal

I need to sort out my FD aerial, either by mending it or a replacement.

Problem is it\'s currently stuck up.

So having undone the mounting bolt there isn\'t enough clearance to get it out.

So, how\'s it done.

theres a metal cover at the top that i had to remove to get mine off...

Yup, top of the outside bit unscrews and there\'s a bolt inside....takes a bit of fiddling but it will come out

Snap it off and Replace.  Job Done

That\'s the easy way but perhaps not the most cost effective.

The aerial makes ratchet noises when powering on/off so I guess something is slipping.

This sound familier to anyone and is it fixable?

i just took the whole lot out of mine and flushed it off, so not much help.. soz bud.

It`ll either be rusty inside, or the cogs are made of plastic and be broken, you could buy a kit to fix it,  but its most likely replacement
