Been thinking [a bad thing I know] and wondering if there might be any interest in my current engine?
It is a 13b RE complete with 1/2 bridge porting done less than 2k miles since a full rebuild made 540fwhp at the Thor dyno day would be sold with the RE uim and lim. Note: it is just the block you would need all the bits and pieces.
What do you guys think?

It might tempt someone as it\'s an easy-ish route if they are due a rebuild but you might have to wait a while unless you can sell it to an engine builder so they can offer it as a package.

Personally I\'m more interested in what the next step for you is; 13REW -> 13B RE -> 20B??? :)

400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Oh john, john, john, this is so incredibly tempting, its exactly what I want for a future project, I just dont think I can afford it right now!

Do you extend credit to loyal MRC types?!

Oh, did you have a price in mind? £1200? :)

That might just buy a 2nd hand basic block without the 30 odd hours that went into porting or the £900 odd that went into parts:Giggle

Is this an N/A Engine?

Your obviously not selling it with a turbo, but when you made 540fwhp was this without one?

Im moving house in a month and was looking into getting my current engine ported for use with a T04S, how suited would yours be for that turbo, the turbo is probably a bit too small! lol

Can\'t imagine anything N/A coming out of Johns garage mate :-) For what its worth I bought Johns old car and its an animal, I\'d buy this engine for a spare if I had enough wonga spare.

£1500? and what do you mean "half bridge"? Are the secondaries bridged only?

John Yorke

RE engines are very rare, consider having your stock REW engine rebuilt and ported [1/2 bridge] and see what that costs,  the 540 fwhp was from running a T51 at 1.15boost [not even in its stride at that point - should see over 600 with that setup running 1.4] Only looking to recoupe my costs, engine is mint less than 2k miles, only selling the engine [bare] with UIM and LIM [RE]

MikeLMR

come on then ... stop being a tease you must have a figure in mind or are you just fishing for offers ?

dandan

Yeah come on John, give me a number to start saving towards, or to ask my bank manager for...

John Yorke

Looking for offers around 3.5K, for you peeps that dont get on FDUK to often pop over there and have a look at \'project testarossa\' you might understand the amount of work and detail that has gone into it.
Taking into account a stock rebuild using your own engine comes in around 3k throw into the mix this is an RE block and 1/2 bridge will rev to 9+k and I think that is cheap. I\'m only looking to re-coup my costs to help fund my new project.
