Basically, I barely use my stock RX8 hi power. I live and work overseas for a good 11months a year. And am back in the UK for roughly a month every year. Which is the only time I get to drive my RX8 about. Rest of the year it is kept securely locked up in my mums garage.

At the moment i\'m with admaral with 3 years NCBs, no points and milage limited to 6k per year. And am getting charged roughly £500, fully comp. Unfortunately I cant go 3rd party as they say my car\'s value is too high.

Was just wondering if there was any comapnies who could give me a lower insurance quote seeing as how my car is barely on the road.

A lot of the more specialist insurance companies should be able to give you a lower mileage limit, maybe that\'d be worth considering? Did you suggest to Admiral that you were only driving the car for less than the 6k you insured it for?

I\'d have a chat to A-Plan.  I\'ve got mine on a classic policy with them but when the cars off the road for the winter it allows me to take driving cover off the car so it\'s insured for theft only.  During the period where it\'s theft cover only I get half my premium back for those month\'s.

think 6k is the min Admarial said they will do it for.

Will try A-Plan, they sound interesting, I assume that they insure the car with like for like replacements on aftermarket stuff?

Also will give AON a go, cheers Clive ;)

I am with Admiral, very old with 4k limited mileage for my 93 FD. and i pay a lot more than you! time i thought about this more, iv\'e been with them 3 years too and 50 years no claims.

That is wierd... maybe its your post code pulling you down? Know that can be a big factor on quotes. But then again it could be purely cos its a FD, whereas mine is a weak ol RX8...
