Does special edition mean anything?

I\'m no fd expert but i think Series 7 have an updated front with different park lights. Do a google and i\'m sure you\'ll get the answer.

Check the chassis number.
FD series 6 - ~ 91-95, and chassis numbers start with 1******, 2****** or 3*****
FD series 7 - ~96 - 98, and start with 4*****
FD series 8 - 99-02, and star with 5****** (just 99) or 6****** (00-02).

You say yours starts with a 3, so would be a "series6".

Check out Wikipedia to, for a run down (not sure how accurate though!) of some of the changes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RX7
