the 13b cosmo engine also known as the RE engine is about the best you can use for any purpose as it has the biggest ports.   If you go small aftermarket turbo you will eaily see 300bhp on stock ports and very low boost, i would say 6-7 psi.

If cost is an issue you could run the stock twin turbos non sequentially which will drive like a smallish aftermarket turbo and still easily make 300 hp at the engine.

I removed the exhaust sleeves on my on my turbo 2 using a dremmel grinding wheel which hardly touches the ali housing and could be done with the engine together.

You can see in the picture that it does virtually nothing to the housing

I removed my ports, heated them and opened the narrow part to match it to the exhaust port
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

13bre the Cosmo engine has more potential than the 13brew (fd) due to larger ports and runners so if you\'ve got access to one then thats the way to go.

if you  are wanting N/A power a good starting point has the be an RX8 6 port motor, it\'s also going to be easier to get parts for in the long term and prices can only get lower, it will also make more power unopened than a converted FD engine will make without a fair amount of work.

The 8\'s a bit scarey though isn\'t it with it having fly-by-wire throttle control and needs the ecu fully !!! Or am I wrong ??

just fit a cable operated throttle body, it\'s only scary because not many people have swapped around bits with them yet. In another car it\'s easier to fit a new ECU than keep an OEM one. (although thats been done)

Very good point :D You\'d just need a microtech :D
