Finally managed to take the FD out again for a short run - been a few weeks while I\'ve been trying to sort out the audio and I wasn\'t going to drive it with the interior in bits.

Anyway, I noticed that once it warmed up and with the aircon on, the engine would hunt pretty bad at idle - about 700-1500 rpm, up, down, up, down. Turn the a/c off and it idles rock stable at around 800.

I can\'t say if it\'s done that before the remap as well as I don\'t turn on the air that often but I don\'t think it did.

Any comments/ideas?

thats on a PFC right? mine used to do that on the PFC as well....that and the aircon never worked...now back on the stock ECu, the aircon works and all is well....
i think it was geff @ reworx who told me that the apexi would eventually "learn" the aircon...but i dont think it will.

you need to setit up bud, just reading up the now as iv got one 2 fit.. rest the apexi, startup and run for 10mins, then put the rear demister on, run for 10 mins the switch the a/c on and run for 10 mins, then switch off.. that should be it setup..

Excellant, mine never worked after the Apexi install. When I get the car back I\'ll try it.

Anyone else had a result on this ?

Careful, if your apexi has been mapped and you reset it you will lose the map

if still on base map, then reset and do the proceedure.  If the a/c and apexi don\'t work together it is because whoever installed it didn\'t take 20 mins to do the learning proceedure..

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I\'m not going to reset my PFC - it\'s been fitted to the car and mapped by RoTechniks who also built the whole thing and the only reason I\'m touching anything is to read the water temp or knock off the commander.

I guess I\'ll better have a word with them on Monday then.

My Apexi was doing this, only when the AC switched to full-speed \'4\' though. 1, 2 and 3 were no problem. It caused my car to stall a couple of times at low revs even when the AC was off. This is explained in the Apexi manual.

I left the car to idle with the aircon on full, for 10 mins. The ECU had a think about its behaviour and now the idle is steady and no more engine stalls.
