Hi,

I\'ve just bought a SpeedoHealer and am about to fit it to my FD...

The instrutions mention to make sure you fit the converter to the speed sensor (obviously) but before the ECU - to make sure the ECU is fed the corrected speed values and not the old values...

How can I make ure I do this... I was just going to fix it to the back of the speedo dial (you basically splice it in the wire that feeds the speedo from the sensor)

am I right?

actually, just thought a bit more about this... and i reckon it should just tack on the back of the speedo.... the ECU will be probably only needs to know about number of turns of the shaft, not whether its kph or whatever...

oopsie...

i could convert it to lightyears if i wanted...  :Hammer

on the back of the speedo there is three screws in a triangle, 2 of which are signal in/out.  you need your thingy to intersept the the signal and change it,  i have instructions how to do this somewhere

they work fine with cars too :)  (apparently)

you can get a universal harness, which is basically bare wires with no molex plugs...

ahh cool thanks....  was wondering how it\'d connect (see a fwe posts on here too)

the main trouble seems to be getting the dash off!

is there an easy way to get to the speedo without taking the dash off?

take the cover off the steering /key shroud thingy.  then pull the clocks towards you(takes effort but be careful).  look in the car from the front and you will see a couple of electrical connectors, clip them off the back of the clocks and you can take the unit right out
