Looking round for a new alternator for my FD.

Anyone know where the best place to get one? and how much they are?

Try :

Seemed to be good value when i got one for the FTO. They do Charge you a fee until they get your old unit.

Sometimes easier just to get it fixed. A secondhand unit is usually around the £50 mark.

Cheers for that.  Just started the car up and the light for charge is on, but only quite dim, so im not sure wether the alternator is on it\'s way out?  Just trying to cover my bases for everything when it goes in for it\'s rebuild.

Cheapest option may be just to have it rebuilt locally. If you go into yell and do a search for alternators locally they may be able to help.

What voltage are you seeing on tick over ?
