Hi all

I am after a little pot of touch up paint to cover a couple of small scratches on my spoiler (looks like someone has taken it through a car wash!!).

The car is a 1996, black in colour - does anyone know what the paint code is?  Also, can you suggest where to get it from (Halfords?).

Cheers

there should be a sticker with the paint code on the underside of the bonnet. Idon\'t think halfrauds stock many mazda colours (they didn\'t have the right colour for my 323 even!) but its worth a try another idea would be to try a local paint specialist as some of them can mix paint to suit and put it into a spray can for you. Mazda should be able to supply these too.

It\'s probably paint code PZ (Brilliant Black)

Halfrauds don\'t have that, it\'s a trip to the stealership I\'m afraid!

I went into my local halfords and told them the paint code and they made a touch up pen there and then....took about 10 minutes to mix the paint.  Might be worth a go.

I concour!!
Halfrauds willl mix the paint if you give them the code which for black is indeed PZ.

However dont expect it to be cheap. I think the rattle can cost me nearly a tenner, cant remember what the paint stick was, although they are quite large.

hmmmm I might have to go to the bigger halfrauds store and see if they can mix some paint for my 323 then ... my local one only has a crappy rack of tins ... no mixing thingamajig

I had to get some paint and gave Halfrauds a miss. There are loads of specialist auto paint suppliers in Yellow Pages. I called Autopaints in Lewes and they did me a spray can of Mazda M8 (montego mica blue) for a tenner in under an hour - it is a perfect match.
