hi guys i have some problems with my clutch and brakes as per another thread,

pedal soft/hard depending on how hot or just whenever it wants.

biting point is very high and clutch has no bite.

clutch also seems very hard yet when pushed just locks the wheels easy without slowing the car vey much.

i drove marks white car yesterday and noticed his brake pedal very soft and gradual and also FISH took me out and he has the same brake setup - standard discs - mintex extreme pads all round - standard calipers (i also have new fluid) but his stopped the car amazingly well!!! dont think his tyres were much better but not sure. i had 4 new dunlop high performance tyres on stock 16s 225s i think.

right, so what do you guys reccomend and is there any advice you can offe,

Do i change the cylinders together or try one. change for new or used.

get a recon kit and rebuild? also do i do any of this myself or is it tricky/messy.

will a rx7 tuner be needed or local garage.

and most importantly £££ how much.

any help is very very much appreciated as this is the last "repair" to my car i hope!

thanks in advance :Thumbsup!

CraigN

do you have any leaks ? or could it just be air in the system ?

m4drx

no leaks at all mate that i know of, not loosing fluid and had the system bled and refilled about 2 weeks ago which helped a little but now back to normal.

only half a litre went in though so im confused.

im sure this is indicating the cylinders but your wisdom wont go a miss!

:)
thanks

Like CraigN said it could be a leak or air in the system...

The brake master cylinder can cause these symptoms..Car will be fine when cold and after a short drive (when it gets warm) the pedal gets softer and also affects the clutch..

Check your Clutch master cylinder for leaks inside the car by the pedal..
Might also be worth checking your clutch slave cylinder and replacing the rubber clutch hose with a \'uprated\' one..

FTO...What a great car...Should be saying that on here...:rollin :rollin
