tailgate/bootlid weight?

anyone know the weight of the tailgate/boot WITHOUT the glass? Im thinking of putting on either a carbon boot with perspecs glass or just replacing the glass with perspecs and still using the standard boot. any help would be much apreciated,cheers rob

Cant remember now, but I think the saving using our carbon rear hatch and lexan glass was approx 15kg

i know there will be a good weight saving over standard with the glass being changed just wondered if the cost of a carbon boot is worth the extra £600 odd quid!or just to change the glass to lexan and stick with standard metal boot?

depends on pockets at time and whther you\'r regret not doing it later and end up spending money again

Quite often good money spent on lightening the car is more effective than engine mods. You can spend thousands making a car go faster on eng mods with all the troubles that can come from it.
Ask Jon, he has made his car 200 kg approx lighter, so making car handle, brake and perform better without the stress to engine
And best of all no dieting :-)
