I had a very close call yesterday!!

I was on my way to a meeting Tuesday morning.

Near the end of my journey, I noticed my oil light come on. Thinking wtf, I drove the next mile or so, then pulled over.

Looked in the engine bay and saw a little steam (from the leaking oil). I instantly thought "Oh SH*T!".

I looked under the car and there was a massive puddle of oil!! I had to Abondon the car and get a mate to take me the rest of the way.

I got back to the car Yesterday and called the RAC out.

The Problem....



A split oil cooler pipe!! Needless to say, not fixable on the spot, so I got trailered an hour back to where I live.

Although, I now need to source a pipe form somewhere, it could have been ALOT worse!! Imagine me travelling 70mph along the motorway and not realising for another 20miles??.. Engine would have been dead!

if there was oil spilling out the back at that kind of rate for a mile or so, people behind (i.e me) would be flashing you telling you to pull over

you would of noticed the oil light come on, on the motorway as you are always at the speedo

Mazda = pricey as fook I\'d think.

Trying to save a little after spending £150 to get trailered home!!

Also, I think trying to explain to someone over the phone might be near impossible!! Well form previous experiance with parts people.

YIKES! hope you get that one sorted quickly as its getting to be the purfect weather to be out in these cars :3gears-rh  and yeah that was a lucky call you could have easly had a blown engine if youd have continued much longer id say.

Try your local mazda dealers anyway, not sure about price, but they will have all the blowup pics on computer, if nothing else it may make it easier to source one if you have the right part number. Nice bling by the way, almost a shame to cover it up!
