Hi all.

Car is currently in at WGT\'s for alot of work, new parts and a mapping session. Getting everything done at once.

Just wondered what you guys think I should expect in terms of torque and power output both at the flywheel and rear wheels.

Set-up will be as follows: -

1993 UK spec RX7 FD13.
Twin turbochargers - stock - sequential.
ARC super induction box.
Downpipe - pe-cat removed.
WGT straight through centre pipe - main-cat removed.
Racing-Beat single tip cat-back exhaust.
NGK plugs - 7\'s leading, 9\'s trailing.
Magnecor ignition leads.
HKS ignition amplifier.
Pettit Racing AST & Cap.
Sard cooling thermostat.
Koyo performance radiator.
Greddy stock mount performance intercooler.
Hardpipes.
Apexi PFC & Commander.
ACT streetlite flywheel & counterweight.
ACT 6-paddle performance clutch kit.
Greddy pulley kit.
Greddy compression elbow with BOV flange.
Greddy Type RS BOV kit.
Greddy autotimer.
Greddy pressure cap.
Plus a whole host of gauges and pods. lol.
(Airpump left on and active)

Plus a full mapping session done by WGT\'s once all the above fitted.

Cheers guys. Your opinions and thoughts on the above set-up would be appreciated.

fair shopping list there. Is fuel pump standard as that could be a restriction on what Pip can map to ? would hope you get near to 300 RWHP

Tiger_kpt

Yup. Fuel pump, injector rail and injectors are left standard.

what are you hoping for bet you cant wait to get her back

Tiger_kpt

Nah can\'t wait to get her back... bought her for £5500 a couple of months back and will have spent over £4000 on her. And just yesterday found out that i\'ll be going to the USA for 3-months with work. Somewhere called Orrville in Ohio - just HOPE that it isn\'t red-neck country! Imao.

So all that money spent and will miss all of the UK shows this year! May go to a few US ones though and will certainly be getting my hands on some cheap parts whilst over there! Doh!!!

I would say 285-290rwhp. As Peterwolds said, an uprated fuel pump and possibly some larger injectors could see over 300rwhp.

Looking forward to the results!

Tiger_kpt

Well i\'m aiming for 300rwhp, maybe a little over. Nothing over kill. Don\'t want to change the factory set-up too much with it being a UK spec car - wanted to try to keep it as original as possible whilst making it that little bit more powerful and foremost that little bit more reliable.

Which fuel pump and injectors would you suggest? Would you retain the standard fuel rail? Would I need it all remapped again if I went down this route? And where could I get the parts from and what sort of cost would I be looking at?

Pip did mine 255L walbro pump, twin additional 550 cc injectors, remapped to 305RWHP - definately need remap not as expensive as 1st map though (bear in mind Pip has a reputation for safe mapping - a good thing ).pump was £75 injectors £250 plus remap/fitting.next route for me is WMI got the pump etc need tank next then back to wgt

Stock fueling will restrict you plus no indication on condition of the engine, has it been comp tested?
My guess would be 260 -280 @ the hubs

Tiger_kpt

Got some good news as Pip was working through my car gave me a ring about the results of the compression test. First test it\'s had under my ownership.

His exact words were "it\'s a good strong engine". Gave very consistant readings of 8\'s all round.

Am well chuffed seen as though it had a rebuild 45k miles ago by Rotechniks - car on 112k miles, didn\'t know what to expect, so nicely suprised!

Tiger_kpt

Can\'t wait to see what it pushes out on the dyno now!

what time are you going saturday to pick her up is it all right if i come need to get that pipe

Tiger_kpt

Alright Dan. Yes and no. Yes, you are more than welcome to come down with me mate. Problem is that Pip also said that it MAY not be ready for collection on Saturday now as he is short staffed at the moment and has alot on. So as much as i\'d love to, I may not be able to go down for her this Saturday. Probably go one morning next week instead if that is the case.
He told me he will keep me updated so i\'ll do the same mate.

Just out of interest... what are compression figures normally for a newly rebuilt engine, a good engine, an average engine, a not so good engine and a knackered engine? Generally speaking of course.

bobert

I am going down saturday morning. Proberbly see you there
