mikeyh

k ive seen rad caps but ones a 1.3 bar the others 1.5 anyone know the best one to get.
not going to be on track all the time but when i do not wanting to kill th car

teabagger

Crikey! Isn\'t 122 degrees into the realms of engine damage?

mikeyh

lol i didi read another site saying something about 127 or higher, car did drive home ok no probs and even sat in traffic for 40 mins too lol
it now tucked up safe in its garage awaiting a strip lol

Ricco_04

I read on here not to use a rad cap above the standard 0.9bar pressure - something to do with putting too much pressure on the water seals (or something?)

Remove the aircon if you still have it, that will improve the airflow but probably better to get an ali rad.

122!    what set up do you have!  i\'m suprised you havent done damage
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

im running st\\ndard twins, apexi induction, upgraded ic,nothing much else just small things.
what sort of damage should i see???
not tried to start car this morning maybe should go see if she`s still alive lol

nikp

I have just looked up the boiling point of WATER at the pressure the coolant system runs at, and it is 118 degrees. I don\'t know what effect antifreeze has on that temperature.

you obviously have a very good map,   not sure how your engine survived that on the road let alone a track!
