Who\'s insured with who running a single?

I\'m paying a lot for mine at the minute through Sky Insurance, no complaints, great service and dont charge you everytime you change something. It\'s a daily car so can\'t go silly with limited mileage, reckon I might have done around 6-7k this year!

Car is running a small single and puts out 390fwhp and I\'m 24 (although I\'ll be 25 when it\'s up for renewal) will have 4yr NCB and have had no accidents/convictions. Just wanted to know who everyone else who runs a single turbo is insured with...

A-Plan, call the thatcham branch, you can google them.

26, 4 yr ncb, all mods declared is a long list, £675 tpft that went up by 175 last year because I moved to London :-(

Well...

Got my renewal through from Sky... £1666.00

Phoned A-Plan... £842.00

Phoned Sky back, was told that was VERY cheap and to check the details, in the mean time he\'d try and get a better price...

Confirmed everything to be correct with A-Plan so I\'ll wait and see what Sky come back with!

Well it\'s definately looking as though I\'ll be going with A Plan, it\'s not due til the 22nd so I have a few weeks yet.

Got a call back from Sky Insurance, apparently they\'ll match that price if I provide them with a written quote from A-Plan...

So do I call A-Plan and see if I can get it cheaper?

Just went with Sky, they matched the A-plan quote, and they do agreed value (Which I wanted and A-plan don\'t do it) which cost me £75 extra and it also includes like for like on mods, so I went with that... Also I\'m insured 3rd party on other vehicles for the first time EVER and I dont have to mess about proving my no claims etc as I was already with them, just renewed over the phone took 5mins...

I paid £1400 last year when it had 242rwhp then £300 extra when I went single after 6months with 325rwhp (total of £1700 for the year).

Renewal came through @ £1666

Got down to £842 plus the £75 for agreed value, so I\'m happy.

By the end of it I saved 800 quid off my original renewal cost...
