Hi,

My FD only has front speakers... the rears have pockets instead.

I\'ve just bought a set of rear speakers and am gonna fit them this weekend... do I also need to fit crossovers with the rear speakers too?

There are no tweeters.

(PS - I am a total ICE n00b :yes  )

i dont think you need to get separate tweeters. i fitted some pioneers into my mates type x and they work just fine, even though his car comes with bose acustic wave bass system in the boot. fronts give decent mid range sound but you gotta have some good speakers at the back and go for the ones that are 2-way or 3-way with tweeters and (bigger the magnet, the better) to cover mid to high frequency range

Yeah, not bothering with tweeters, might upgrade later on again to fit a sub and amp, but this\'ll dof or now..

Do I need any crossovers to fit the new rear speakers?

no just run them straight from you Amps / Headunit, you only really nead a crossover if you looking to run seperate bass box mids and tweets, some people like to use them anyway but the les interference (with a good headunit) the better

If you\'re running the speaker full range or if they\'re two-way as opposed to components, you don\'t need components.
