Does a turboII have seperate gearbox oil, or does it use the oil from the engine?...    ...I am guessing it should be hypoid gear oil or something, rather than just 20W50 mineral?...

if its seperate to engine oil, how easy/hard to change, what should be used, etc...

Also, how regularly should diff oil be changed, how easy/hard is it, what should be used?...       ...I am going to change engine oil, filter, plugs, and so am thinking of doing the gearbox/diff at the same time...

thanks in advance for your help

75W90 gear oil. Dunno the mazda recommended intervals (used to be 4-6000 in the RX4 days). Personally on cars I thrash I change every 20K.

synthetic works very well in these boxes and makes the shift much nicer.

The big caution with the gearbox is that there are 2 oil fill plugs. You put oil in the top hole until it dribbles out the bottom one. Doing it the other way around results in oil everywhere.

No clue on diff

diff has fill hole and drain hole too
the box oil is a pain to change unless you have a pump to get it in
