I have heard of treating the block with ATF to condition the seals. I think my 90\' GXL would benefit from this. It has 110k miles. If any one has any tips, I would greatly appreciate them.
Also, what type of conventional oil should I use?

Usually only done to fix a flooded or carbon locked engine. Get stock ATF from a garage. pull plugs and squib a little in the plug holes.

With fuel system disconnected turn engine over a few times. You will see nice puffs of oil.

Leave for a while. Pop plugs in and start.

If your car starts and runs OK I\'m not sure you need it.

I had hear of the treatment, but wasn\'t sure if I needed it. I will glady skip it. Any advice on the oil, buddy?

Hi Jeff,

Yes - Bill is on the money there.

As for oil, do you mean engine oil? If so, go with the recommended Mazda oil.

Mineral Oil 10/30W - but I\'m not sure what the climate is like where you are.  So ask your local Mazda garage what they recommend (or a rotary specialist in your area).
Thanks,
