hi just would like to know what i need for a manual gear box conversion

antnicuk

pilot bearing
flywheel
gearbox
clutch
thrust bearing
prop
master and slave cylinder
pedal assembly
starter motor i think
interior gear lever surround

these spring to mind
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

hey ... it\'s that man again! how you doin?

i too am looking in to this and the RX7 Club stateside has loads on the website about it - don\'t just put up a question post tho since there are a number of a-holes who will give you loads of grief about searching the threads first - i searched the threads first and found lots of snotty comments to others who asked the question.

if you search the FD3 archive there is a sticky on the conversion along with all the parts you need plus loads of advice. there is also a step by step description of how to on an FC which i believe is not a whole lot different

let me know how you get on

Pete

Mark,
as far as I know there\'s also some electrical work required in order to properly convert the car. Mine has had that conversion done before I bought it and it did require some additional work to complete the conversion as whoever did it in the first place bodged some of the electrics...

think it was RE Worx who quoted me £1700 plus parts a good while ago - that\'s why I\'m looking at a DIY job - if things come together I plan to post a how-to sticky step-by-step guide of how to (or maybe not to) do it.

The RX7 Club thread said it could be done with a 90-piece socket set, a trolley jack and very little in the way of know-how - well I have all three so I should be fine!:rollin
Naturally it will be a co-production - after-all, everything i know i learnt from you!
cheers:cheers

found the following for a conversion think this is what\'s needed, please tell me if ive left something out.

manual gearbox, clutch and master / slave
cylinders,
engine / gearbox wiring loom, manual ECU, starter motor, and pedals

oddball

You will also need manual propshaft and diff, or prop and diff flange from manual if you want to keep auto diff.  Just had mine done.

Sorry to revive an old post , but I have a quick question about the conversion...
Can I retain my current (resprayed) gear surround panel, or do I have to fit a manual one? Is there much difference?

Thanks
