I currently own a fd3s twin turbo
It currently has engine wise
cat back exhaust (some famous jap make)
Twin apexi air filters
Apexi fc commander
HKS dump valve should be ordering 2moz!
Will be installing V-mount kit

engine otherwise is stock
running car on track so full potential but reliabilty is needed.
1)my question is what boost will my car be running at with the twin turbo\'s
2)stock twin turbo are they any good how much bhp can you get out of them
3)is there anything else that i should be changing as well

will most likely be getting water injection too soon as i have more money.
thanking anyone who reads and has an input

Stock boost is 10 psi peak

If you don\'t have a boost controller then you shoul see a boost pattern of 10-8-10 psi.

You can monitor boost levels on the Apexi PFC Controller.

I was running 320 atw on stock twins, with full decat exhaust, 15psi boost, WI, hks filters and FMIC.  The turbos didn\'t last long though, blew an oil seal.  Others can run that figure no probs.

is there a difference runng a boost controller on the twin turbo
as you say it would run 10-8-10 thats what it is doing now
would it stay or run better, constant 10psi with a boost controller

is the apexi fc commander not run a boost controller
or should i go after market boost controller

thanks for the info

You cannot control boost with the Apexi, unless you buy the additional boost controller solenoid.

An aftermarket boost controller would enable you to raise peak boost, however you would still see a temporary dip as the second tub comes online..

Mechanical check valve or better still and ebc would do the job, the greddy one is pretty handy

thanks so how much boost can i acutally run
is only 15psi
Im taking my car into WGT how much would he set it at
and looks like im gonna have to buy a boost controller oh well! morebhp = more:Thumbs-up

As I say I ran mine at 1 Bar.  Anything over this I would not recommend, but others have done on twins.  Ask Pip, he will have all the answers.  In theory you could run as much boost as you want if you had the fuel.  But then engine you bye bye very quickly !!

LOL!
would be worth running as high boost as you can have but again 3500pound for a rebuild a little too steep for me or anyone! only if it was a cheap head gasket change on a normal engine lol! still funny

We see what happens on friday thanks again

I\'m running a reliable 0.9 bar high and 0.8 bar low boost. The BHP difference is 7 bhp (297 atw on 0.8 bar and 304 atw on 0.9 bar) but it pulls better on 0.8 bar because the turbos are running more efficiently.

I\'ve got a V mount, uprated fuel pump, fuel rails, injectors, an ignition amp, Apexi ECU, Apexi filters, wide downpipe, straight through exhaust and Racing Beat exhaust.

The rule of thumb is 1 bar if you\'re on pre 99 spec twins and you\'re lucky but generally they run out of puff around 0.9 bar. Again as a rule of thumb anything over 300 bhp atw on stock twins is a fair result.

As has been said previously, you can run higher boosts and higher BHP but things tend to go pop...

I would sugest you aim for roughly 300rwhp then if it does that at .8 bar so be it , don\'t get carried away with the Stock twins.

As you\'ll find out they will run 1 bar but they don\'t have 360 bearings in so thats maxed out and you would not want anything maxed out if your going to hammer the C**p out of it on a Track.

You may want to Invest in a decent Fuel pump and Fuel reg (so you can up the rail pressure and get a Bit more out of your Stock Injectors)

BTW have you now sold your Rad?

If your taking it to pip, he will map it around the 260-280atw with the cat in place. You wont need a boost controller, the apexi controls boost just fine. I bought a boost controller and pip said i did\'nt even need it on twins so that was a waste of money

depends on your exhaust. If its a very free flowing sports cat you can suffer boost creep quite easily on stockers and the PFC won\'t keep it down. I had to get a controller and a bigger pill.

I\'ve got a 3" downpipe, silenced midpipe and wgt straight through backbox and pip managed to elimnate boost creep on mine without a boost controller. I found this out the other day from carl too http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36253

guess it depends on the setup, When I took mine to get mapped by Pip he was having real trouble keeping the boost down, first but the bigger pill in and it kept creeping, so I had to install a boost controller. I guess the fact the engine had been ported didn\'t help matters. Full spec was a 3" downpipe and straight through exhaust, street ported engine, apexi induction, uprated intercooler and rad. Set the boost to .7 while I got some new injectors and it crept up to over .9 and was running dangerously low on fuel.

On th eplus side it was producing over 320 atw on stock twins :)
