how much sould i pay on a satindard full service (ie new oil filter, oil, spark plugs)?

There\'s no reason you could not do this yourself mate plugs are a bit awkward but oil and filters straight forward and theres a "how to" on the forum. Alternatively any local garage could do the plug, oil and filter change there\'s nothing specialized about that bit.

When I first had mine my number 1 job was to have this done.  Took it to Mazda (which I wouldn\'t make the mistake of doing again) and the bill was just over the £400 mark.......

plugs should be 40 quid, 12 quid for oil and a fiver for a filter so about 55 quid on parts and then about an hours labour MAX to do the work. It takes me about 45 mins to do those 3 things on jacks so no garage should charge you more than an hours labour....

sorry guys i should  have probably explained this a bit better. thisis a pub argument that i wanna get some knowledgable ppls opinion on. my mates reckon that labour an hour at a rotary specialist should be like 50 quid an hour. i say more like 70-100 depending on who. hell i know my local mercedes garage charges 110. also if you ask for a full service do would you expect aguy to start checking all your brakes head gasket+ other engine components and other stuff. its basically the three things mentioned in the original post and more if you ask him. what you guys think?

If you find the head gasget let me know where it is as i can\'t find mine!:rollin :2Confused

My local Mazda dealer does an oil and filter change and general health check for £85 cause I can\'t be arsed.

For plugs I\'d probably add another £100 labour plus parts.
