I\'ve used both Castrol GTX and Duckhams mineral oils in 3 rotaries with no engine problems. But tell me what Castrol GTX I should use now, since there\'s GTX for modern engines and GTX for old engines (the latter has some extra gap sealants/additives)? Our engine is deffinately old!

mmm... good point. Which GTX... modern or older one?

I\'d say go for the new engine one. I guess it may depend on the mileage of your engine but I don\'t think additives are good for rotaries so may be best to avoid the stuff for older engines. (read Carl\'s post above about gummy deposits!)

Yip.. picked some of it up "the for newer engines" and a filter too. Only £15 on trade at my work. Not bad!

@Bazza... I take it you bought the FD then?? :)

How could I say no :Thumbsup!

I only use genuine Mazda oil filters, with a new sump plug washer every time, (3000 mile intervals - about a year and a few months for us). I think it\'s important to use genuine filters because otherwise the quality of the materials and of any non- return valve to prevent draining back is suspect.
