Hi All

I\'ve noticed that the water level keeps going down in the upper water filling point (next to the alternator). It goes down to just past halfway. I fill it up to near the top and after driving to work about 7 mile it\'s back to the just under the mid point. I\'m not to shore if it loses any more than that. But I\'ll keep an eye on it.

The car isn\'t starting on one rotor and fires up fine and it doesn\'t have bubbles coming to the surface.

The water in cooling system was change about 12 months. So not down to needing burping.

So the question really is am I just being paranoid and should the water be half way down when cold.

Thanks

the level shouldnt be to the top bud, the system will adjust itself and mine sits about 2 inches rufly below the top.. if you overfill then the system pushes more water than it needs to out, just keep an eye on it but dont ovrfil :) also do you get loads of white smokes once shes warm? thats a good sign its the seal and its been said that the bubble test isnt that reliable.. hope this helps :D

Thanks for the reply.

The engine was only rebuilt 5000 miles ago so pretty sore it\'s not the seal gone and theres no white smoke when warmed up.

Check the level behind the headlight you will probably find youve been topping it up and the water has been forced into there.

I did have a look at overflow tank earlier on, but no water showing on the stick. I\'ve only topped it up 3 times over the past couple of days and it doesn\'t take much water. I think it\'s just me being paranoid as I had it in my head that it was up to the top the last time I checked. Think I might have been getting the levels mixed up with my old Impreza as that was defiantly to the top and the filling point is at the same point as the RX.
