How many people on here are running this single turbo? Because i\'ve just bought one :Giggle  and am curious to know what power people are running with this turbo! The engine is currently being built and street ported and i have the following parts ready to be fitted-
GT35/40 (1.06 a/r)
Blitz FMIC (4 row i think)
KG parts secondary rail with 1600cc injectors
FPR
Bosch 044 pump
Apexi power FC
Greddy profec B
HKS wastegate
Does anybody else have a similar spec? What sort of power is it making?
and more importantly am i likely to see of my mate who has a similar spec but with a T04s currently in the making?
Thanks

nikp

I have a GT35R on mine. V-mount intercooler. 1300cc secondary injectors and Apexi BNR33 fuel pump. Turbosmart wastegate.

380rwhp @ 1 BAR I reckon, you will have a faster spool i reckon then the T04s, ultimate power probably not much in it

Very similar spec to mine. Don\'t know about power yet as I\'m still running in but it\'s very eager to pull at low revs. I\'ve been struggling to keep it off boost even while nannying it.

nikp

I\'m not sure on my power, as i\'ve not had it dynoed, and I\'m having difficulty getting the boost controller setup properly. I\'m going to give up soon, and get it done by one of the specialists.

Nikp wasn\'t your engine built by the legend that is davehg?
He\'s in the process of doing mine at the moment!
I\'m surpprised i\'ve never seen your rx around bristol.

nikp

Kind of - he helped me. We both spent a day dismantling it, an afternoon building the block, and he helped me get the engine in. So, for me, it was a bit of a case of 50/50 workmanship on it, i reckon.

I\'m in north Bristol - Horfield. We\'ll have to have a mini meet. I\'ve only seen 2 others in the area. Both of whom I have met the owners (One being Dave!). I am now very proud of my rex, rather than trying to hide it.

i have a GT35/40 on my TII block, 350 rwhp at 1 bar with a small 0.96,  hot side, but i make full boost by 3.5k and positive boost at 1800 rpm.  I am looking to change to a 1.06 housing so i will be interested to see how you get on.

Is yours a T4 or T3 flanged unit?
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

further to the above, you reminded me to order my housing which i have just done,  apparantly they dont do 1.06 in the TO4 flange only the T3 flange which is smaller than the 0.96 on the T4.  The next one up is 1.0 which isnt any bigger but has a divided housing, the next one that is bigger is a 1.15 which i thought would be huge. Oh well, i\'ll just have to bridge the new engine to get enough air to the turbo!

You know you want the 1.15 and the 1/2 bridge:WaveBye

What is the diffrence power wise between the T4 and T3 Hot side? I was under the Impresion that the T3 spools quicker but there is a Big diffrence in top end power?

I was shopping for at the end of last year and was put off but people telling me that the Gt3540 tops out at about the 350rwhp mark? Then people are now running more like 380-400rwhp? is this down to Porting/Hot side choice? also where does the Hybrid Turbine Wheels fit in??

Then after all this what exactly is a GT3540? is it another Nme for a GT35R? or is it Bigger?

nikp- sounds good mate! Do you also know Greg? He has done all the mapping on my car and is hugely clued up on all things rex related especially mapping/tuning he may be able to help you sort out your boost controller?

Antnicuk- My turbo has a T4 divided housing and has a 1.06 a/r so it is available! Bought it from australia if that makes any differance!

I think that the T3 tops out at about 350 rwhp typical boost/engine conditions

Its interesting that yours is a T4 1.06,  I am going to try it on my current engine, if its really laggy i will either sell the housing or half bridge the engine to suit!  I will still have my cuurent set up so i can always put it back and sell the new engine if i dont like it.

Keep us posted on how you get on.
