Hi guys, have just joined recently and have spent the last week checking out the site. I recently bought an 86 fc non turbo which was sitting on a fellas drive for near 3 years in the Aberdeen wind and rain, it had it\'s engine replaced with a recon unit and only did 500 miles before he took it off the road. Apparently the recon was built by a company specialising in rotarys in the Coventry area and I\'m told it will now make 200bhp but other than his word I have no idea if this would be true. Does any one out there know of this company if the quoted output is likely. The car was well looked after by the previous owner and regularly maintaned by the local Mazda dealer although the paint was faded badly from red to a nice orange shade, but when I got the car home and got a proper look underneath I quickly established the underside was badly rotten despite how solid the rest of the car looked. Shortly after this and having given up hope of repairing underneath (I am a Mechanic to trade but bodywork is not my forte\') I found a shell for sale 60 mile away which had been painted 10 years ago then put into storage, It\'s solid, shiny like a new pin and only needs the underside cleaned up and protected.
So thats my story but what I would really like to know using your experiences is what kind of mods can you recomend for the car, the plan is for a road friendly track-day car as it will be my everyday car eventually and with what is essentially going to be a build from the ground up there is too many oppertunities that I don\'t want to overlook. Plans running round my head include seam welding the shell, suspension & brake upgrades, but what do you think and recomend product wise? (I don\'t have deep pockets so want to know I\'m spending my hard earned on the right parts)
Thanks for taking the time to read this I hope to get some pictures on once the shell is picked up this weekend

I reckon it\'s hurley engineering http://www.hurleyrotary.com/ they are in coventry. There isn\'t many fc\'s (second generation) rx7\'s on here anymore im sorry to say, just a handfull but there are loads and loads over on the american site //www.rx7club.com. You will need to join to view the threads. Most of the people who own the second gen rx7\'s over there are kids because they cant afford to run an fd lol.  By the way, Welcome to the club
