Well, when I first got my RX I was pretty set on updating the looks and getting a 99 spec bumper, for a few resons of improved air flow and as I say, updated looks...

...However I\'m really starting to like the origional looks!

So what do you think, just a bit of discussion really... My mate at work thinks the 99 spec front lights look like mainbeams, so he\'s asking why do you need 4 lights??? Plus fogs as well! ;)

Also, getting everytyhing track friendly I know I need a bigger rad, but the improved airflow would be good!

Cheers for your thoughts!

The 99-spec is a lovely bumper to be honest. I\'m getting a Feed Type IIR which is my absolute favourite bumper, it\'s so nice and curvy and blends very well.

It also depends on your tastes.....I do sometimes like the original 92-98 bumper but it must have a splitter, looks pants without IMO.

Are you geting a genuin feed one mate????

Saw some replicas on ebay earlyer sellong for around £200 deliverd!!!

i used to lust after the 99 spec but now i dont care. The stock bumper is grand and it is also very channles the air nicely.
Dont like the after mkt bumpers and they never sit right. They nearly always look stuck on and prob wreck the slipery nature of the fd.

I voted standard and especailly in that awesome colour :D

Cool, that\'s what I was thinking as well... It does look cool!

Mine came with a small little splitter (seemed to be an option maybe?), but I do need to get the bigger splitter I think.

You can get them in black rubber (or rubber type stuff) right? Or are they all body coloured?

And to give us an idea of what I\'m on about :D

So I think I need a splitter before I really decide...

i really want the 99 spec bumper but none of this c west or feed etc fiberglass crap cos ive got some hefty speedbums where  I live and I also want it to have an OEM fit. Out of interst, do you have a 99 spec lined up?

kermit

99 Spec would be my choice too.  Not easy to get hold of in the UK though.

Not anything specific... But I did see that Dragon used to have one on their site, so was going to have a ring round. Then get some of the eBay lights with the 92 - 98 spec loom...

...But now undecided... And the money could go towards a fair few trackdays as well ;)

Go for something different....

Not all front bumpers ruin the slippery FD3 shape or need to sit a mm from the road....

Nah, shineautoprojects in the US do good replicas. The one\'s on ebay are always the normal Type II, the IIR is more curvy :)

Had a look at the FEED IIR, and it\'s nice but I still like the OEM look...

Mmmm, again very nice... But the OEM just stops it standing out too much... Sound odd I know but I used to have an Exige so I think I\'ve had my fill of talking to every tom, dick and harry at every petrol station and set of lights, it was cool but when you\'re in a hurry and too polite not to just run away it can be painful!

So, I went for a darker colour, nothing too bling and am enjoying the puzzled look as you blast off in a car they have no clue as to who makes it, or what it is ;)

I will always stay with my Stck bumper for one reason only...... Stone chips!!! I have had GRP Bumpers in the Past and they Chip realy Bad and very quick (i belive its becouse they are less flexable and don\'t absorb the Stones Impact as well)

Another thing that puts me off is how scratched my Stock Splitter gets, thing is with a rubber Splitter it gives a bit but if a GRP Bumber made contact with the road i don\'t think it would be as Forgiving Plus alot of Aftermarket Bumpers are closer to the Road than Stock which make it worse.

So My choice is Std OE or Proper Mazdaspeed.

99 spec is nice and the more I see the aftermarket kits the more I think I will stay stock.

Failing that the Mazdaspeed is nice and I could swap to one of those !!!
