I have cusco fully adjustable suspension on my FD and I want to lower it. I spoke to some mechanic and they will do each wheel for £10 which I dont really pay.

does anyone know how to do the lowering on adjustable suspensions???

It has a ring around the suspension which I think is used to adjust the height.

but does it have a lock?
will i need to take the whole suspension off?
do i need a special tool or can i do it by hand?

any help appreciated.

(*watching with interest*)  I\'m wondering how to adjust my Tein coil overs too.

think you need a special tool / key thing...

not sure how you make sure each corner is at the right level, i guess that\'s where the £10 goes...

If I have remembered this the correct way round.......:2Rolleyes

You will have tow collors on the coilovers which you will need to adjust with the \'c\' spanner that came with the kit.  The second collor should then be moved to match and then another 1/4 turn to lock them.  Adjust them all the same amount of turns so they will all lower by the same amount.

Now i\'m pretty sure you move the collor\'s up to lower the car?

I have Cusco adjustables too, they are very easy to lower or raise, if yours are the same as mine you will have 2 C spanners, take the wheel off after measuring from the ground up to the highest point of the wheel arch, (write it down)to unlock the bottom ring, hold the top ring with one C spanner in the top ring put pressure on it to the right or clockwise, at  the same time as locating the lower C spanner in the lower ring, with your third hand tap the lower C spanner to knock this ring loose anti clockwise, when it\'s free to turn lower it down the thread say 20mill or whatever, then wind down the upper ring to meet on the top of the lower ring to tighten at the level you want, make sure both sides of the car are at the same measurement when the wheels are back on, and make sure the front is lower than the rear or the car will not handle well!
hope this helps. definitly a DIY job,

Collars down to lower the car.

To achieve correct adjustment mark main collar(upper one) on each shock and make the same amount of turns on each set (front being one set and rear the other) to achieve desired ride height front and back.

Dont forget when you adjust suspension it will alter all the camber/toe settings so you will need to get them checked/adjusted via a 4 wheel alignment place.
