High revs

when i start the car, from hot or cold, the revs go up to 4000 then drop to about 800, and then keeps going from 800 to 2000 about every 15 seconds.Any idea.  Also there is a stong smell of oil in the car, checked the engine and thats ok, the smell seems to be coming from around the twin turbos, any idea.

Could be an oil leek from your oil seals I\'d get it checked out ASAP!

If it\'s oil from the twins oil cooling lines then be very careful as it will catch fire...............................:Grrr

Sounds like the lower inlet manifold gasket, i had that on my car starts fine then idle fluctuates, do you have a boost gauge does that flicker slightly too?
