I just recently bought a left hand drive 3rd gen Rx7, I only taken it around the block a few times, I\'m planning on making it a project car, so its only going to be turned on a few times every week so its not just sitting in the garage.  I have been in touch with the guy(s) over at Kiwi-RE (Alec Bell), I\'ve talked to him about a 20b single turbo motor that would put out around 800hp, I just wanted to know what transmissions you guys feel would be the best for this type of car. I have looked at the G-Force T-56.

I plan on starting the project in June/July, I\'ll buy a new camera because my dog has destroyed my new one that I received on
x-mas.

Thanks,

Keeps us updated in the US section.

FA2A

Will do, but the US section section looks like a ghost town :D

U can be the first of many.  Possibly talk to 20b Boy about the transmission he is doing the same sort of thing.

The G-Force T56 sounds like a great idea, have read much about it on the rx7club forum. If it was easily obtainedable here I\'d probably go for it. As it stands, build and development time are exhaustive on these kind of products if u wanna do it right, so I\'m sticking with the FD box til it snaps, then may be some thing custom, perhaps a Supra 6 spd in between :)

Hi FA2A,

I suppose the main question would be - what do you plan on using the car for?

With the G Force, looks like Drag Racing?  You will also have to think about the diff. - standard one won\'t be that great.
Thanks,

FA2A

I plan on using it as a drag car, but I also will like to have it as a show car too, I plan to do more street racing as apose to comp racing.

Street Racing with 800hp!!!!

Please say you are going to use MoTeC! (traction control and all the goodies???)
Thanks,

FA2A

YES! 4 SHOW ( thats the way we say for sure in the US) I\'m using Motec

also wanted to know if anyone has turned the stock speedometer boost and such to digital, I think that\'s something I plan on doing.

I\'m sticking with the stock Series 6-8 RX7 5-spd; there are a few 20B cars in Aus that are running the 3rd gen tranny ok. Dont expect it to last for too long but heh, thats life!
