As above guys.

Am the new proud owner of a 1993 UK Spec RX7 Twin-Turbo - FD13.

Just want to know what the main differences in terms of specification, engine number, engine stats, engine/suspension&mechanical components, etc are.

Will tuning parts suitable for Jap spec (FD3S - THINK that is the number assigned to Jap spec examples) cars be suitable for the UK (FD13) counterpart?

Getting a few parts such as Koyo radiator, Greddy turbo elbow, HKS sparkplugs, Apexi Exhaust, HKS dumpvalve, etc suitable for the FD3S, and wanted to make sure they would also suit my FD13.

Thanks in advance guys. :cool

Any chance of a link? As I can\'t seem to come accross what you\'ve mentioned. Sorry!

The UK cars are also FD3S model codes as far as I\'m aware.

There are very few differences between the UK and JDM cars, it is on here somwhere but from memory:

UK cars all have sunroofs as far as I can remember (I think the JDM Type X was the only Jap FD to have a sunroof)
UK cars have additional cats in the exhaust (one of the reasons they have less power)
UK cars have the larger UK sized space for number plates
UK cars have rear fog lights fitted into the rear bumper
UK cars all have leather interior and rear seats (only certain JDM varients did)

note the ECU will also be mapped for UK fuel (another reason for the lower power)

All of the mods you have mentioned will fit UK and JDM FDs without problem

Loud? Hell yes! :D

Hmmm. Yup, mine has sunroof, has had the pre-cat removed with downpipe (main central cat still present) - running standard management. One thing that does differ from your points above sadgoth is that mine doesn\'t have rear seats - it has strictly two seats (leather interior) but with the storage bins instead.

Hi

There are no seats in the back of a UK spec car only the storage bins, don\'t forget by owning this car you are one of only approx 125 UK spec cars on the road in the UK!!

Other minor differences include:

Washer Jets for headlight - you know you\'re jealous JDM boys :P
larger washer resevoir stored in the boot
Cruise control.
Knee rest - not on all JDM models.
Crome trim round the dials - not on all JDM\'s

Think that\'s about the lot I think.

Oh and I think you may want to read up on the HKS spark plugs. I think I remember something about the tips coming off and buggering engines on the way through :(

There was also a sicky wet up a lil while ago for UK Spec owners but i cant find it, hopefully you\'ll have more luck!

Tiger_kpt

Yeah I realise that the UK spec cars are rare. Only 124 ever sold I recall. But does anyone actually know how many are still up and running our roads?

Thanks for the info and links. I have a MUCH clearer overview now!

Quite a few less now I would guess.

Make sure to get the car on ramps and check carefully its underbody protection btw; I\'ve seen more than one UK car with rust holes in it already :o
