What with the info about car alarms causing power to be taken away from the coils, whats the best alarm/way to fit one to a 95 Fd?

Got a nod on a load of toad alarms and just want to know how to tell the fitter to wire it up without blowing my engine...

Got mine and few others done from Simon, a very good friend of Jaydee.  He knows exactly what he is doing as he has done few fds now.  The problem was (what i read here and heard from people) with the scale of wire some installers use to connect to ignition that also feeds into coil packs i believe and on higher rpm the thiner wires runs out of puff and causes ignition break ups so its advised to use thicker wire.   When i was at reworx, they checked the wire and it was correct thick wire.

Call Jay and get the no + the price is much much better then others....

Cheers Laeeq, i\'ll give him a bell on his return :D

So it was just the thickness/type of wire not how it was wired off the ignition? I understood that there was a constant feed from the ignition to the coil packs and by running the alarm off this cable, it drained the power to the coil packs ergo engine popping.....

Also what type of alarm is yours? If I can get these cheap toads I may as well buy one from my source and get Simon to fit it.....

Thanks again

From what I understand it\'s mainly alarms from Clifford.. I\'ve got a Sigma alarm which was installed from an Sigma certified installer and it had no probs when on the dyno at Reworx, on the other hand my mate Shah had a clifford alarm and there was signs of break up on the dyno, so Reworx put a new thicker wire to sort out the problem... I think Sigma are made by Toad so should be okay

Cheers Kash, even though I think Sigma ar made my Clifford not toad?
I had a sigma on my Subaru (one of those stupid start your car from outside jobs) and was told Clifford make them. :2Confused

Ok i\'ll grab this toad and speak to Jaydee about Simon fitting it.

Cheers gents :god

So just to reitterate, the alarms should be ok as long as they use thicker wire from the ignition? Even if its a clifford?

I have to get an alarm fitted, but quite worried about what i get and where i get it after reading some stories... :(
