Ok, what\'s the best way to identify whether my CAT has died? Options please! Cheapest, most reliable method please! :p

I like to be predictable so...

1) it stops eating and moving
2) after a while it goes a bit stiff
3) a while after it going stiff it starts to smell a bit.
4) you start to notice more birds in your garden
5) rodent infestations become more common

As for catalytic convertors; heat light may come on on dash, car struggles to perform esp at higher rpms due to reduced gas flow I guess. Never had one on a car so thats about as good as I can do.

I thought something might be wrong - he\'s been lying in the garden for a few days now. He\'s gone green! :D

As for my FD, you seem to have given the symptoms I have been having, except I don\'t get them all the time! I\'ve had the heat light come one a couple fo times, and I\'ve had it struggle at high revs (quite frequently), but not every single time. Could it still be the catalytic converter?
