if it is a proper Blitz that is a good price

you will still need a fitting kit though

where could i get one of those? then id buy the both..
or is there somewhere that will offer a deal on the two?

Looking more closely that is not a genuine Blitz bov here be the proper one

he has welded the fitting kit flange to a bigger bit of ali, but essentially the fitting kit is a 19mm flange that connects to the silicone hose in place of the stock bov

the proper ones are considerably more pricey

I\'m now even more undecided! lol!

Not sure whether to get a bov or a wastegate? I love the fluttering noise a wastegate makes!!

Can anyone suggest what would be the best for the car?

You already have an internal wastegate setup on the twins.  The wastegate is an integral part of any turbocharged application, bleeding off any excess boost pressure.  You can put a boost controller inline to it, to adjust boost levels.

The BOV is a different thing entirely, when you come off the throttle the pressured air has nowehere to go so the bov opens to release the charge.  If this didn\'t happen you would experience compressor surge and potentially damage the turbine.

You want a bov, a wastegate doesn\'t make any real noise unless venting to a screamer pipe.

Pleasure, I learnt all that I know from here too

i thought the wastegate divirted exhaust gas away from the turbo, thus controlling boost. not venting the pressure inself

strange_days_uk

Yes.  Once you reach set boost the wastegate is open fully, which as you say diverts any more exhaust gas away from the tub so the tub doesn\'t spool any further.

I didn\'t word my reply well enough obviously

That should probably read the STOCK wastegate doesn\'t make much noise, i\'m not running a BOV on my single, just the HKS wastegate which is fed back to the downpipe. Makes a hell of a chattery racket, maybe even louder than the BOV was...

Screamer pipes, well they ARE loud!

strange_days_uk

I have an HKS style wastegate (cheap ebay copy jobbie).  It is plumbed back into the downpipe.  I don\'t notice any noise to be honest.  But then I\'m too busy listening to the turbo !!   :D
