I\'m just leaving work this second mate [aint got internet access at home yet]. Can I try MSN during the day tomorrow - would like to have a chat if pos?

Ricco_04

Yeah no worries - I should be home by 3.50pm so ill go on as soon as I get home :Thumbs-up

BUG4LIFE

Bummer, I don\'t seem to be able to log on to MSN messenger on my work computer Ricco, they may be restrictions or something?

I take it you gotta be a paid up member to be able to send PM on this site?

Ricco_04

Yes mate, you do need to be a member to PM

Couldn\'t get to work today so am still at home! :D

C-WestRZ

just my opinion, but if i could do it all again, i would buy my RX from one of the members on here, MRC etc..
almost spoilt for choice these days and
enthusiasts seem to care alot more about their cars.

Ricco_04

I have just sent you another email but it says it has bounced! :3Confused

BUG4LIFE

Oh, don\'t know why, my email is working fine [I think]. Your first one went with no problems right?

Ricco_04

I tried to send it twice - ill try again in a bit cause I got 2 bounces :wiggle

BUG4LIFE

I take it it still aint working bud? We have had problems with in-coming emails at work in the past, I will check

Ricco_04

Just tried it again and it seems to be working again! :chat

BUG4LIFE

Nothing has come through buddy, and I have received external emails this morning - v strange! :3Confused

Ricco_04

Aaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh - hold on I\'ll just post it here (I love my brain! :rollin )

------------------

I\'m insured through Admiral who where £700 better than the next best!!!!  Elephant is their online company so you may also want to try them.  Mine is a UK car so cheaper to insure but as long as it\'s a standard car, not modified, not parked on road and you limit the miles then these will all be in your favour (but you know this anyway!)

I always advise anyone to sit down with the yellow pages for 2 hours and just phone every companh.  Wright each company down alog with the telephone number and quotation (inc excess)  Then pick the best one - its usually down to 3 companies.

My journey to work is about 10 mins.  The car has always reached opperating temperature in that time and "touch wood" I have had no problems in neally 3 years.  This is used in summer, wet months and winter.  If you are sensible with the car then it will love you for it.  Any car will be a handfull on ice as im sure you are well aware.  I drive to work off boost and once a week im in the car long enough to help it clear it\'s lungs.

Serviceing is important - get it done.  Oil as you say every 3000 miles and plugs need doing every 6,000 (some leave it longer but if you know how to do them and can get them then for a few hours on an afternoon you can do the oil change and plugs yourself.

I have never seen the car before but I would also be interested in seeing it anyway.  At £17,000 its a "little" too far out of my price range.

If the owner did concent to taking it up to WGT with you then Pip will know what to do as im sure he has done this exact thing time and again.  He will most likely compression test the engine, pressure test the coolant system, preform a sniffer test etc etc.  It will cost you money but it is another piece of mind and a small snip of the £17,000 asking price.  (I always use WGT for any work I can\'t do - I personally would not reccomend a Mazda Dealership  The next closest is Carl Hayward)

As for fitting in the car I guess the only way to find out is to try getting in one.  Where abouts in the country are you?

Ricco

BUG4LIFE

Worcester mate. I live in St Peters, just off junc7 of the M5! Yeah I\'ll try getting hold of Pip over the weekend, get his thoughts.

Cheers for all the advice Ricco, it\'s so helping me form a knowledge of RX7 ownership.

Ricco_04

No worries, you can ask anyone on the MRC as they are all very helpfull - I know they have been very helpfull to me :Thumbs-up

Well when the snow goes away (its been snowing for 5 hours here now!) we will have to get a quick local rex meet (as wanted to do that anyway) and you can try for size!  :Thumbsup!

BUG4LIFE

Yeah cool, I\'d come to that for sure, get measured up!

Cheers bud.
