Air pump blanking plates??

Right then guys..... I\'ve taken the air pipe that feeds in to the cat off now (as I don\'t have a cat anymore!!) and I\'ve made a blanking plate from 5mm ally plate........ is this OK or should it be a steel one???

I thought it wouldn\'t matter as there shouldn\'t be any pressure there as the pump is going to be inactive (removed shortly)!! Am I correct in my thinking??

Made mine from 2mm ally so 5mm should be ok, wouldn\'t recommend 2mm on oil return tho :rollin :Hammer
