Gutted for you as it was a really nice rex you had.  If you need any help with the insurance company, details of accident, value of car etc - then give me  a ring.

hi tim :) thanks for that, hopefully i won\'t - but if anything comes up i will get in touch.

did you have any joy with the other cars you looked at? any closer to owning one? my brother told me after you\'d left that you\'ve got a teg... is that yours in your avatar? it looks great, i think i will get a dc2 after i\'ve been to and come back from australia!

Yeah pretty close now, I put a deposit down on one and picking it up on Thursday :D .  Its Jim_B\'s rex from on here.

My avatar is my Teg, that shot was taken at Nurburgring.  They are cracking cars, I\'d certainly recommend one, will be alot cheaper to run than an RX7 too.  I\'m just craving more power now and rwd.  I can\'t bear to sell the Teg though so it\'s gonna be my daily drive! and possibly become a track toy too :)

Btw if your insurance is not an agreed value policy then I don\'t think you will be hampered by the £5k purchase price. It\'d be based on market value, which can go up as well as down.

id make sure to tell them that you can proove that you have receipts for over X amount if they do decide to write it off.

This may get a bit messy, You need to speak to the engineer who looks at the car (if it gets that far) in this day and age 60% of claimes are done via Pictures and the List value, they won\'t see it as just having 4k spent on it rather it will be in highest Grade (you would have to check the list value of an FD)

just received the confirmation today that they have deemed it beyond economical repair. i phoned the chap at the garage it was recovered to in order to get my tax disc posted back, and he told me the assessor engineer had said what amazing condition it looked like it was in before the bump - so a glimmer of hope there.

fortunately i have all the receipts and invoices etc so i can prove that it had just had a rebuild and would be worth more far than a non-rebuilt 60k mile example that they will pull off autotrader.

haven\'t had chance to do this today, but tomorrow i will speak to the claims department to see if they can tell me what category write-off they have classed it as, whether there was any structural damage, whether there was any damage to the engine, and if not how much i can buy it back for...

moosey

Fingers crossed for you chap.

Hi Juz

Sorry to hear about your misfortune…try to get it repaired, you will be surprised how little second hand panels / parts go for..

Any pictures?  Is it really bad?  I had a knock on the nose which damaged the lip aswell.  Initial estimate was around £700 I got the nose glued for £35.00 by a plasi welder, lip I got from Japan for next to nothing…to cut the story short it cost me £320 in total and it looks better then the original…

Michael
